Main Dashboard

The main dashboard (index.html) serves as your home base. From here you can access all tools organized by category: Analysis, Planning, and Forms.

Unified Toolbar

All tools feature a consistent two-row toolbar design:

  • Top Row: AdvisorOS logo | Tool Name | User Display | Back Button | Dashboard Button
  • Action Row: Save/Load | Tool-specific buttons | Report | → Presentations (gold button)

VBConnect Tab

On the right side of every page, you'll see the VBConnect tab. Click it to open the team collaboration panel where you can:

  • Share ideas, questions, wins, and resources with your team
  • See real-time updates as teammates post
  • Like and comment on posts
  • Filter by post type or topic

Tool Headers

Each tool has a consistent header with:

  • Back Button (←) — Returns to the previous page
  • Dashboard Button — Returns to the main dashboard
  • User Display — Shows your name and avatar
  • Save/Load — Save and retrieve your work
  • → Presentations — Send data to Personalized Presentations

Common Interface Elements

Tabs

Many tools use tabs to organize different views or stages of analysis. Click tab names to switch between sections.

Input Fields

Most financial inputs support formatted numbers (e.g., "1,000,000" or "$500,000"). The tools will automatically format values as you type or when you leave the field.

Toggle Buttons

Option selectors appear as button groups. Click to select — the active option is highlighted.

Keyboard Shortcut
Press Tab to move between input fields. Press Enter to trigger calculations in most tools.

Get up and running in 5 minutes

Creating Your Account

Before using AdvisorOS, you'll need to create an account:

Register
Click "Create Account" on the login screen. Enter your name, email, company (optional), and create a password (minimum 6 characters).
Sign In
Use your email and password to sign in. Your session persists until you log out.
Save Your Work
Click "Save / Load" in any tool's header to save your analysis. Give it a name and description for easy retrieval later.

Your First Analysis

Let's walk through creating your first client analysis using the Life Capital Analyzer:

Open the Tool
From the main dashboard, click "Life Capital Income Analysis" under the Analysis section.
Load Example Data
Click "Example" in the header to populate the tool with sample data. This helps you understand the expected inputs.
Enter Client Information
Update the fields with your client's actual data: ages, account balances, income goals, and tax information.
Run the Analysis
Click "Run Comparison Analysis" or "Run Full Monte Carlo Analysis" to generate projections. Navigate between tabs to see different views of the results.
Save Your Work
Click "Save / Load" and then "Save Current Work" to preserve your analysis for later.
Generate a Report
Click "Report" and select your preferred report type. Enter the client name and generate a professional PDF-ready document.
Success! You've completed your first analysis. The same workflow applies to most tools in the platform.

User Account & Data

Manage your account, saved work, and preferences

Account Features

  • Cloud-Based Authentication — Secure Supabase authentication with encrypted credentials
  • Persistent Login — Stay signed in across browser sessions
  • Save/Load Work — Save analyses for each tool with names and descriptions to the cloud
  • Cross-Device Access — Your saved data is accessible from any device when signed in
  • Password Protection — Secure your data with your personal password

Creating an Account

New users can register directly from the login screen:

Click Create Account
On the sign-in screen, click the "Create Account" tab or the "Create one now" link.
Enter Your Information
Fill in your full name, email address, company name, and choose a strong password that meets our security requirements.
Registration Code
Enter the 4-digit registration code provided by your administrator.
Start Using AdvisorOS
Once registered, you'll be automatically signed in and can start using all the tools.
🔐 Password Requirements
For security compliance, passwords must contain:
  • At least 12 characters
  • One uppercase letter (A-Z)
  • One lowercase letter (a-z)
  • One number (0-9)
  • One special character (!@#$%^&*...)
A real-time checker will show you which requirements are met as you type.

Saving Your Work

Every tool with a "Save / Load" button supports cloud data storage:

Click Save / Load
Look for the "💾 Save / Load" button in the tool header.
Save Current Work
Click "Save Current Work", enter a name (e.g., "Smith Family Analysis") and click "Save".
Load Saved Work
Your saved analyses appear in the modal. Click "Load" on any saved item to restore it.

Password Reset

Forgot your password? Here's how to reset it:

Click Forgot Password
On the sign-in screen, click "Forgot Password?" below the password field.
Enter Your Email
Enter the email address associated with your account and click "Send Reset Link".
Check Your Email
You'll receive an email from Supabase with a link to reset your password. Click the link and create a new password.

Logging Out

Click the "Logout" button in the user bar (top right of any page) to sign out. You'll need to sign in again on your next visit.

Your Profile

Customize your profile to be visible to teammates in VBConnect:

  • Profile Photo — Upload your photo or use initials avatar
  • Title/Role — Your job title or role
  • Bio — A short description about yourself
  • Areas of Expertise — Topics you specialize in (Estate Planning, IUL, etc.)
  • LinkedIn URL — Link to your professional profile

To update your profile, click on your avatar in the toolbar and select "Edit Profile".

☁️ Secure Cloud Storage
Your data is securely stored using SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Sign in with your email and password from any device to access your saved work. Your data automatically syncs across all your devices.

The Life Capital Analyzer compares traditional retirement withdrawal strategies against the Decumulation Hedge Strategy — an approach that uses life insurance cash value to provide tax-free income during market downturns.

Input Sections

Qualified Accounts

Enter 401(k), IRA, and other pre-tax retirement account values. These are taxed as ordinary income upon withdrawal.

Brokerage Account

Enter taxable investment account values including cost basis for capital gains calculations.

Life Insurance Policy

Configure IUL or VUL parameters including premium, death benefit, cap rate, and floor rate. The tool estimates cash value at retirement.

Client Information

Current age, retirement age, and planning horizon determine the time frames for all projections.

Retirement Income Goal

Set the target annual income in today's dollars. The tool applies inflation to calculate future income needs.

Reports

Click "Report" to access two report types:

  • Decumulation Hedge Strategy Report — Client-facing document explaining the strategy with personalized projections
  • Analysis Summary Report — Technical report with KPIs and detailed data for advisor review

Export & Integration

After running your analysis, you have several export options:

  • Excel Export: Click the "Excel" button to download a CSV file with all analysis data
  • → Presentations: Click to send all data, charts, and metrics directly to Personalized Presentations
  • Report: Generate PDF reports for client delivery

Presentations Integration

When you click "→ Presentations", the following data is transferred:

  • All visible charts as images (balance projections, tax comparisons, Monte Carlo distribution)
  • Client information and timeline (ages, retirement year, income years)
  • Assets at retirement (qualified, brokerage, total)
  • Insurance/IUL data (premium, death benefit, cash value)
  • Strategy comparison results (Traditional vs Life Capital)
  • Monte Carlo simulation results (success rates, median, 5th/95th percentiles)
  • Year-by-year projection data
  • Tax savings and balance improvement metrics
Best Practice
Run the Historical Sequence analysis using 1929 or 2000 start years to demonstrate the impact of sequence-of-returns risk on traditional portfolios.

  • Year-by-year projections (estate value, tax liability, net to heirs by year)
  • Insurance projections (premium payments, cash value, death benefit by year)
Note: The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (2025) made the estate tax exemption of $15M per person ($30M married) permanent, with annual inflation adjustments. There is no longer a scheduled sunset to lower exemptions.

The Illustration Center uses AI-powered PDF parsing to extract data from carrier illustrations, allowing you to compare products side-by-side with standardized metrics. Upload illustrations directly or enter data manually.

How to Use

Upload Illustrations
Click "Upload PDF" to add carrier illustration files. The AI will automatically extract key metrics including death benefit, premium, cash value projections, and policy details.
Review Parsed Data
Click "Preview & Edit Data" to review extracted values. Make corrections if needed before comparing.
Configure Comparison
Select which metrics to compare and at what policy years. View guaranteed vs. illustrated values.
Generate Comparison
View side-by-side comparison charts and tables highlighting differences between products.

Data Extracted

Overview

Create professional, interactive presentations for clients. Choose from built-in templates, use the Custom Builder to create from scratch, or import data directly from other AdvisorOS tools. Features drag-and-drop components, editable tables, and a data panel with charts.

Two Ways to Create Presentations

1. Use a Template

Click Team Presentations in the header and choose from built-in templates: Couples Retirement & Legacy, Tax-Free Retirement Income, Flexible Accumulation, or Custom Strategy Review.

2. Custom Builder (New)

Click the Custom Builder button in the sidebar to start with a blank presentation and build it yourself using drag-and-drop components.

Custom Builder

The Custom Builder gives you full control over your presentation layout and content.

Start Custom Builder
Click the gold Custom Builder button in the sidebar. A blank slide appears with the Component Library open.
Drag Components
Drag any component from the left panel onto your slide. Components include titles, paragraphs, bullet lists, callout boxes, metric cards, data tables, comparison layouts, and more.
Edit Content
Click any text to edit it directly. All text is editable including titles, metrics, table cells, and paragraphs.
Style Elements
Select an element and use the toolbar to change colors (navy, gray, gold, green, blue) or add highlights (yellow, gold, green, blue).
Add More Slides
Click + Add Slide in the toolbar to add additional slides to your presentation.

Click the Components button on the left edge to open the component library. Available components:

Data Panel (Data, Charts & Tables Tabs)

Click the Data button on the right edge to open the data panel. It has three tabs:

Data Tab

Shows all numerical values and metrics from imported tools, organized by section:

  • Client information (name, age, etc.)
  • Estate values and tax analysis
  • Strategy comparison results
  • Monte Carlo simulation results
  • Year-by-year projection summaries

Click any value to copy it to clipboard, then click a table cell to paste.

Charts Tab

Shows all captured charts and graphs from source tools:

  • Large preview images of each chart
  • Chart title and source tool name
  • Count of total available charts

Click any chart to insert it directly into your presentation.

Tables Tab

Shows all available spreadsheets and projection tables:

  • Estate projections (year, age, estate, tax, net to heirs)
  • Retirement projections (traditional vs life capital balances)
  • Strategy year-by-year data (balances, taxes, withdrawals)
  • Comparison tables and insurance illustrations

Click "Insert Full Table" to add the entire table to your presentation, or click individual cells to copy values.

Editable Tables

All data tables in presentations are fully interactive:

  • Edit Cells: Click any cell to edit its content directly
  • Add Row: Hover over a table to see the + Row button
  • Remove Row: Click − Row to remove the last row
  • Add Column: Click + Col to add a new column
  • Remove Column: Click − Col to remove the last column
  • Tab Navigation: Press Tab to move between cells
  • Enter to Save: Press Enter to save and exit edit mode

Import data directly from other AdvisorOS tools:

From Estate Tax Calculator

  1. Run your analysis in Estate Tax Calculator
  2. Click the → Presentations button in the header
  3. Personalized Presentations opens with your data loaded
  4. All charts, metrics, and projections are available in the Data panel

From Life Capital Analyzer

  1. Run your analysis in Life Capital Analyzer
  2. Click the → Presentations button in the header
  3. Personalized Presentations opens with your data loaded
  4. Monte Carlo results, strategy comparisons, and charts are available
Data Transfer Includes
When you click "→ Presentations" from another tool, it captures: all visible charts as images, all calculated metrics, year-by-year projections, Monte Carlo results, strategy comparisons, and client information.

Color & Highlight Tools

When using the Custom Builder, the toolbar provides styling options:

  • Color Palette: Navy, Dark Gray, Gray, Light Gray, White, Gold, Green, Blue
  • Highlights: Yellow, Gold, Green, Blue backgrounds
  • Clear Highlight: Remove any applied highlight

Select an element first, then click a color or highlight to apply it.

Element Controls

When you click any element in Custom Builder mode, controls appear:

  • ↑ Move Up: Move element higher in the slide
  • ↓ Move Down: Move element lower in the slide
  • × Delete: Remove the element from the slide

View Modes

Slides View

Traditional presentation slides optimized for printing. Includes cover slide, background, individual plans, combined analysis, and disclosure.

Chart View

Interactive line chart showing Account Value, Death Benefit, and Total Premiums over time. Automatically updates as you change values.

Dashboard View

eMoney-style professional dashboard with metric cards, progress bars, milestones timeline, and an interactive data table where you can edit any cell.

Slide Layouts

Choose between three layout formats for your presentation slides:

Letter Landscape

11" × 8.5" horizontal format, optimized for standard paper printing in landscape. Best for client handouts and physical documents with wider content.

Letter Portrait

8.5" × 11" vertical format, optimized for standard paper printing in portrait. Best for documents with longer text content and traditional report layouts.

Widescreen (16:9)

Standard presentation aspect ratio, optimized for screen display. Best for projectors, screen shares, and digital presentations.

Switch layouts using the layout toggle buttons in the sidebar. Your content automatically adjusts to fit the selected format.

Export Options

Export your presentation in multiple formats:

  • PDF Document: Best for printing and sharing
  • PowerPoint (PPTX): Editable slides for further customization
  • Word (DOCX): Document format for reports

Saving & Sharing

  • Your Presentation Vault: Save presentations to your personal cloud storage
  • Team Presentations: Share presentations with your team by checking "Share with team" when saving
  • Clear All: Reset everything and start fresh

Platform administration for authorized users

Admin Tools provide authorized administrators with the ability to manage users, send announcements, and monitor platform activity. Access is restricted to admin accounts.

Accessing Admin Tools

From the dashboard header, click the Admin badge (visible only to admin accounts) or navigate to the Admin Tools page directly.

User Management

View and manage all registered users:

  • User List: See all users with their email, name, role, and registration date
  • Delete Users: Remove users from the platform (requires confirmation)
  • Password Reset: Send password reset emails to users

Broadcast Messages

Send announcements to all users that appear as slide-in notifications:

Enter a title and message for your announcement
Set Schedule
Choose start date, time, and frequency (once, daily, weekly)
Set Expiration
Optionally set an end date for recurring broadcasts
Publish
Click Create Broadcast. Messages appear on user screens at the scheduled time.

Active Broadcasts

View, pause, or delete active broadcast messages. The status shows whether each broadcast is active, paused, or expired.
